EUROCOAT 2008 – Lyon, France, 30 September–2 October 2008

Eurocoat 2008

EUROCOAT is a trade event that encompasses both an Exhibition and a Technical and scientific conference dedicated to the paint, varnish, printing ink, glue and adhesive industry. For over fifteen years, UATCM (Union of Mediterranean Technicians' Associations), which includes Spanish, French and Italian associations, has enabled EUROCOAT to be an international event, held on an annual basis. More recently, Algeria, Portugal and Romania have joined the UATCM and widened the event's potential audience. At EUROCOAT 2008, visitors will be able to meet:

  • the key manufacturers and distributors of raw materials
  • manufacturers of paint production machines
  • suppliers and manufacturers of scientific equipment for colour applications
  • manufacturers of packing and packaging materials for paint

Organised by the French AFTPVA association under the aegis of the UATCM, the 2008 EUROCOAT Conference will revolve around the general theme of Green Chemistry. Its aim will be to show that the Paint, Varnish, Ink, Glue and Adhesive industries can comply with the policies of a sustainable civilisation, so as to protect humanity and its environment, and to pass on the positive effects of technological progress to future generations. This will provide an opportunity to take stock of public health legislation and gather information on new, clean technologies.

Networking and Learning

Powder Coating Technology

This intensive two day course seeks to provide a clear understanding of all aspects of powder coating technology. The course includes an insight into the formulation and manufacture of coating powders, both thermoplastic and thermosetting. Particular emphasis is given to coating selection, outdoor exposure, corrosion resistance and cost benefits associated with powder coating. Application techniques are discussed in-depth, from simple fluidised bed dipping to fully automated electrostatic systems. The course includes a half-day practical session at a nearby powder coating installation, where there will be opportunities to apply coating powders, understand application parameters, and test coatings in production conditions.

The next Powder Coatings Course is being held on 10-11 June 2008. Register online or contact the Training Manager, Elisabeth Brown (see contact details below).

Training courses are held at the PRA Coatings Technology Centre in Hampton, near London's Heathrow Airport. Customised courses can often be organised to suit your individual needs based on one of the courses in the training programme or on other topics.
