Our extensive range of Laboratory Services include: Analysis, Independent Testing, Microbiology, Viscosity Calibration

Analysis

We offer a complete Analytical Service ranging from determination of resin type found in a paint flake to a full quantitative analysis of a liquid paint.

We have expertise in identifying the causes of defects in surface coatings which may be due to the inclusion of fibres or particles or to contamination of the substrate prior to painting.

Independent Testing

Our globally recognised Independent Testing Laboratory is accredited to ISO 17025 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) and a list of UKAS accredited tests is available.

We are authorised to carry out the testing work needed to obtain Ecolabel approval and for listing on the Master Painters Institute (PRA-MPI) approved products list for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

We are able to assist raw material suppliers by incorporating their products into paints prior to testing.

We have in-depth expertise in all matters related to colour matching.

Microbiology

Our Industrial Microbiology Laboratory is equipped to carry out a full range of tests on coatings and related raw materials to check for preservation both in the liquid state and as dry films. This includes challenge testing for bacteria, yeasts, fungi and algae.

We are able to advise on formulation for preservation and on hygienic coatings as well as on achieving world class plant hygiene control.

Viscosity Calibration

We supply a range of viscosity oils, traceable to ISO 3104 and ISO 3105, for calibration of flow cups and viscometers. All our oils come with a calibration certificate and we are happy to advise on selecting the most appropriate oils.

We can supply bubble tube viscometers, which are widely used for obtaining a simple and rapid measure of viscosity.

We also offer a rapid turn-round service for certification of flow cups.
