Bubble Viscometer Recertification

Bubble viscometers should be returned to PRA for re-certification every five years. Viscometers will first be examined in order to see if they are fit for re-certification. If they are judged unfit they will be returned to the client and the only charge made will be for the return postage. Please note that we do not quote for repair of viscometers as we regard this as impractical.

Please send the viscometers to us together with an order to cover the cost of certification (see prices on this page) and the return delivery charge.

If the viscometers are judged fit for re-certification then the service we offer is:

  • Compare the rise time with a PRA master bubble viscometer
  • Issue a certificate stating the viscometer is satisfactory/unsatisfactory

Clients should note that it is not possible to measure the viscosity of the oil in their viscometers. The service we offer is to compare the rise time of client's viscometers with rise times obtained using a PRA master viscometers. We do not actually measure the rise times.
