Description

This leading edge one-day workshop is an introduction to Competitive Intelligence (CI), a process that is providing an increasing number of global coatings businesses with the capability to create a sustainable competitive edge in today's fast changing markets.

The Coatings Industry is complex and highly competitive and in order to compete and succeed in business, it is vital to know what your key competitors are doing and why? Competitive Intelligence provides the processes and capabilities to stay on top of your competitors and derive powerful insights into their businesses. Done properly, Competitive Intelligence can be the single most important strategic tool for a company.

This workshop provides the skills and tools to begin to exploit CI actively within the coatings market. Participants will discover how to build an effective and ethical competitive intelligence process that will enhance their organisation's competitive position, including minimisation of knowledge leaks.

The course will also cover the use of powerful software systems and the internet to gather information rapidly, so exploiting on-line information opportunities and new emerging technologies. Delegates will learn how to use the PRA's market leading sources and capabilities, to gather public domain information specifically for Coatings CI use.

At the end of the workshop each participant will be provided with a simple CI audit checklist to allow a preliminary assessment of the status of CI. The course fee provides for some access to the presenters to consider the implications of the audit.
