Paint Technology

This course is a comprehensive and intensive four day course which aims to provide delegates with a firm foundation in the technology of organic surface coatings. The course gives an overview of the raw materials used in surface coatings and their contribution to the final properties of the coatings. The study of coating systems emphasises the changes taking place in modern technology.

21st May 2024

The Development, Manufacture & Application of Powder Coatings

This two-day course will explore the types of equipment, raw materials, formulation, testing procedures and equipment used in the process, including both the underlying principles and practical aspects, and the important control measures required for a quality finish. A laboratory session on practical application is included.

29th May 2024

Advances in Technology of Colour Pigments & Dispersion

A specialised one-day course exploring the latest developments in effect pigment technology, associated colour physics & dispersion machinery, and optimal pigment dispersion for use in paints & other media. You’ll also learn how to benchmark performance, especially for production of nano-size pigment dispersions and their use in coatings.

11th June 2024

Print and Ink Technology

This three day course provides a firm foundation in the terminology and concepts used in print & printing ink technology, including a review of the market and exploration of printing processes, application-specific substrates & inks, raw materials, and testing. The course includes practical demonstrations.

24th September 2024

Paint & Coatings Basics

Gain an understanding of the fundamentals of paint technology, including why paints are used, different functional types, and the building blocks of a paint formula. We’ll explore the characteristics of a good paint in terms of performance and testing methods against a background of legislation & sustainability, and gain a commercial perspective of the major market sectors.

1st October 2024

Professional Paint Formulation

This two day course provides an overview of the many factors involved in developing commercial liquid formulations. Participants are also shown how to locate sources of raw material information and to use formulating tools for creating formulating templates and calculating paint constants. There will be an introduction to the ‘Design of Experiments’ approach with an emphasis on mixture designs.

15th October 2024

Radiation Curing Technology

An intensive three-day course that provides a firm foundation in the chemistry, principles and applications of ultraviolet and electron beam technologies. A session on practical application is included, in our laboratory.
